Equipment

  • Instant Pot
  • Measuring Cup
  • Measuring Spoon
  • Cutting Board
  • Chef’s Knife
  • Rubber Spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 Package of eight rolls, uncooked Crescent Rolls
  • 1 Apple
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 0.33 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 0.125 tsp Nutmeg
  • 0.75 cup Water

Instructions

  • Cut the apple into eight slices, leaving the peel on but removing the seeds and stem.
  • Seperate the crescent roll dough triangles and lay them out on a lightly floured surface or cutting board. Place the apple slice at the wide end and then roll it up into the crescent roll. Press the dough all around the apple slice in order to completely seal it in. Se the wrapped slices aside.
  • Press the “saute” button on the Instant Pot® and add the butter to the pot. Once the butter has melted, add the brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir and let the sugar melt as well. Turn the Instant Pot® off.
  • Place the wrapped apple slices into the Instant pot along with the butter and sugar mix. Pour the water in as well, around the dumplings.
  • Press the “Manual” button and set the Instant pot to cook at high pressure for 10 minutes. When the timer goes off, allow the steam to naturally release from the pot which means don’t touch it! This can take about 10 to 15 minutes and, once all the pressure is released, you will be able to open the lid and take the dumplings out. Serve them while hot by themselves or paired with ice cream and a drizzle of the sugar sauce they cooked in!

Don’t these dumplings just embody fall perfection? If you have any questions before you start making these tasty slices or if you have any comments about how great yours turned out, leave them below!
