Equipment

  • Instant Pot
  • Steamer Basket
  • Measuring Cup
  • Measuring Spoon
  • Cutting Board
  • Chef’s Knife
  • Small Bowl of Water
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

  • 15 each Wonton Wrappers, 3.5 inch square
  • 0.5 pound Chicken, chopped very small
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger root, minced
  • 0.5 cup Shredded Purple Cabbage
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 each Egg
  • 1 Clove Garlic, chopped

Instructions

  • In a medium Sized Bowl, combine the chopped chicken, ginger root, cabbage and garlic. Toss together.
  • Add the rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame seeds and egg to the bowl and mix until well combined.
  • Place the wonton wrappers on a flat work surface, separating each wrapper. Dip your finger into a bowl of water and wet just the edges of each wonton, going around the whole square. Place about 2 tablespoons of filling into the center of each wonton then fold the wonton wrapper in half and press the edges to seal well. Set aside the dumplings as you seal them.
  • Place the dumplings into an Instant Pot® steamer basket and try not to let them touch (if they do, it is play but they can get quite sticky! Working in batches may be a good idea!). Place about a cup and a half of water into the instant pot and then place the steamer basket with the dumplings inside into the Instant Pot® as well. Press the “Steam” button and set the timer to 7 minutes with a low pressure setting.
  • When the times goes off, quickly release the pressure in the pot by carefully pushing the steam valve to the open or release position. Serve the dumplings hot paired with your favorite Asian sauce!
