  • Measuring Spoon
  • Peeler
  • Chef’s Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Rubber Spatula

Ingredients

  • 1.5 Pounds Beef Brisket
  • 2 tsp Olive Oil
  • 2 Cloves, diced Garlic
  • 1 Cup Beef Broth
  • 2 tsp Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black Pepper
  • 0.5 Cup Ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 0.5 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 0.125 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce
  • 0.25 tsp Salt

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together 2 Tsp brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, paprika, ¼ tsp salt and ¼ tsp pepper. Set aside for the dry rub.
  • In a separate small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, onion powder, worcestershire sauce, remaining ground black pepper, soy sauce, and salt.
  • Place the brisket on a platter and season the meat with all the rub mix. Let the Brisket sit to absorb the run, uncovered in the fridge for 2 hours.
  • Press “saute” on the Instant Pot® and add the olive oil to the bowl of the machine. Add the seasoned brisket and brown for 4 minutes, flip the brisket over and brown for another 4 minutes. Add the chopped garlic and cook for one more minute.
  • Add the sauce mix to the Instant Pot® and place the lid on the Instant Pot® and seal, making sure the steamer valve is set to “seal”. Press the “meat/stew” button and set the timer for 90 minutes. Once the cooking cycle has finished, let the Instant Pot® do a natural pressure release (that means don’t touch it!).
  • Serve the brisket while warm with the sauce from the Instant Pot® dripped over the top!

The recipe calls for 1 cup beef broth and 2 Tbl. apple cider vinegar, but I didn’t see them mentioned in the instructions.
